The Sucker Punch (2011) trailer, that's what, the latest from Zack Snyder, who directed, as the trailer will do well to inform you, both the not-too-shabby Watchmen (2009) and the dreadfully over-'roided 300 (2006). Don't confuse this trailer with Legends of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole (2010), that's another one.
Can we count the influences in that (admittedly awesome) hodgepodge? Dragons, and giant samurai, and steampunk WWI, oh my! For those of you kiddies who couldn't make out the plot, the film is about a girl who is in a mental institution and, in order to escape before she is lobotomized, she has to navigate her dreams and defeat all those baddies. Um, ok, sure, whatever setup you need to get a girl to ninja-fight a 25-foot-tall samurai armed with a minigun.
